PEFI to host Esports Conclave 2025 with KRAFTON, Invest India

The Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI), a National Sports Promotion Organization (NSPO) recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, is teaming up with KRAFTON India and receiving support from Invest India as the knowledge partner to host the first-ever Esports Conclave 2025. Set to take place on April 1 in New Delhi, this event will bring together senior government officials, policymakers, industry leaders, and top esports professionals to discuss the future of the industry, attract investments, and foster global collaboration. As India strengthens its position as a rapidly growing esports market, the conclave will play a key role in initiating important discussions, making critical decisions, and advancing India’s position as a major global esports hub.

The event’s theme, "Forging the Path to Global Leadership," will focus on building India’s future in international esports tournaments, enhancing the Indian game development ecosystem, and supporting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. It will also explore ways to drive investments, create job opportunities, and develop esports infrastructure across the country. In addition, industry leaders will present recommendations for an esports framework to the Indian government, suggesting necessary steps to establish esports as an officially recognized industry and bolster its regulatory structure.

As esports continues to grow in India, the need for a more robust regulatory framework has become clear. The Esports Conclave 2025 will serve as a platform for all stakeholders, including the government, policymakers, and industry leaders, to collaborate on shaping such a framework. Dr. Piyush Jain, Secretary of PEFI, emphasized the event’s significance in marking India’s emergence as a global leader in esports. He stated that the conclave would play a critical role in shaping the future of esports in India, focusing on policy development, infrastructure, and creating opportunities for Indian talent on the international stage.

Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, highlighted that esports is becoming the future of competitive entertainment, with its inclusion in events like the Asian Games and the upcoming Olympic Esports Games 2027 offering Indian athletes new global opportunities. He expressed KRAFTON India’s commitment to fostering a sustainable, competitive esports ecosystem, and emphasized the importance of the Esports Conclave 2025 in setting a long-term vision for the industry.

Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, stressed the importance of the Esports Conclave 2025 in propelling India towards global esports recognition. He pointed out that the conclave would provide a vital platform for government, industry leaders, and other key players to discuss how to improve grassroots programs, enhance tournament ecosystems, and integrate esports into national initiatives like Khelo India. He emphasized the importance of creating a supportive structure for Indian esports talent to compete internationally.

With projections indicating that the Indian gaming industry will reach $7.5 billion by FY28, growing at a rate of 20% annually, esports is poised to become a significant force in India’s digital economy.
