ONE Esports, an esports tournament organizer and media company, has announced the return of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Invitational (MPLI) in 2023.
This year's MPLI event is scheduled to take place in November and will be the first edition to be held on LAN, as the previous three editions were online-only.
The MPLI is a collaborative tournament between MLBB developer MOONTON and ONE Esports. It brings together the top-ranked Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams from around the world to compete for a prize pool of $100,000.
In the 2022 edition, the MPL champions from Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Indonesia, and the Philippines battled it out, with Indonesian team Alter Ego emerging as the champions.
ONE Esports is a well-established esports and media company in Southeast Asia. It serves as the official media partner for PUBG esports and also partners with the LCK. In addition to organizing events, such as the SEA VALORANT Invitational, the company has gained recognition in the industry.
Previous editions of the MPLI have garnered impressive viewership numbers. The 2022 edition reached a peak viewership of approximately 700,000, while the 2021 edition exceeded 1.7 million peak viewers, according to esports data platform Esports Charts.
While specific details regarding the tournament format, invited teams, venue, and other information have not been disclosed yet, the organizers have confirmed the dates for the event. Further updates and announcements will be made at a later date.
