Offbrand, a creative studio and digital company co-founded by streamer Ludwig Ahgren and Mogul Moves President Nick Allen, has ventured into game publishing with the launch of Offbrand Games. Partnering with Jason 'Thor' Hall, creator of Pirate Software, the new publisher aims to support indie game developers and studios.
Established in late 2022, Offbrand initially focused on connecting brands with creators through content. Expanding its scope, Offbrand Games will emphasize indie games, aiming to address the challenges faced by smaller studios often overlooked by traditional publishers. During a live stream at IGN Live, Ahgren and Hall highlighted the need to provide better support to indie developers.
With Jason 'Thor' Hall onboard as Director of Strategy, Offbrand Games benefits from his extensive industry experience at Blizzard Entertainment and Amazon Games Studios. Their first game, Rivals 2 by Aether Studios, has been announced and is already available on Steam, marking the publisher's entry into the gaming market.
In a significant move, Offbrand has also decided to transition its business model to a worker cooperative, granting employees more involvement in company decisions and an equal share of profits. Nick Allen, CEO and Co-Founder of Offbrand, expressed excitement about the launch of Offbrand Games, emphasizing the company's commitment to strengthening ties between creators and game developers for mutual benefit.
