Streamer Charles 'MoistCr1TiKaL' White Jr. has revealed that his esports organization, Moist Esports, is taking legal action against the U.S. Department of Immigration due to visa complications faced by their Australian Apex Legends team members, who were denied entry into the USA.
MoistCr1TiKaL detailed on his YouTube channel that despite multiple attempts over six months, the Australian players were unable to obtain visas, with one reason cited being doubts regarding the team's claimed ranking.
The visa issues prevented Moist Esports from sending their players to the USA for the initial online competition stage, forcing them to compete from Canada. Although the team's success secured them a spot in the Major held in Los Angeles, visa acquisition remained elusive.
Consequently, Moist Esports had to release their Apex Legends team as the players couldn't enter the USA under the organization, prompting the individuals to apply for ESTA visas independently.
Despite encountering setbacks, including visa denials and lack of practice, the Australian players managed to secure B-1 visas after interviews at an embassy in Lisbon, allowing them to participate in the Apex Legends Major in Los Angeles.
Despite the team's resilience and commendable fourth-place finish in the tournament under the moniker 'Not Moist,' Moist Esports proceeded with legal action in hopes of overturning visa rejections for their players and coach, citing confusion over the U.S. Department of Immigration's handling of the situation.
