Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been selected as the exclusive women's esports title for the 2024 Asian Esports Games, which will take place from November 25th to 27th in Bangkok, Thailand. The event, organized by the Thailand Esports Federation (TESF) and sanctioned by the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), will showcase the growing influence of female esports in the region.
The women's competition will feature 20 national teams from across Asia and the Middle East, with new participants from Nepal, Mongolia, and Tajikistan. This marks a significant milestone, as China's women’s team will compete in a global esports event in Southeast Asia for the first time, underscoring the rising presence of women in esports.
The tournament's goal is to set a new standard for diversity in women’s esports by providing more opportunities for female players to compete at the regional level. Alongside Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the event will also include competitions in eFootball Mobile and Arena of Valor, both in the open category.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's esports scene has seen tremendous growth throughout 2024, including an expanded partnership with Qiddiya in June to enhance its global presence. Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystems at MOONTON Games, highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing the commitment to diversity and the growing global recognition of women’s esports, particularly within the Mobile Legends community.
