The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) has extended its partnership with LG UltraGear, making the gaming monitor sub-brand the official monitor partner for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. This renewal follows two years of collaboration since their initial partnership in January 2022.
As the monitor partner, LG UltraGear will supply a range of monitors for players and casters participating in the premier League of Legends esports competition in Europe. In addition to providing monitors, LG UltraGear will sponsor in-game replays during LEC broadcasts, offering fans a second look at crucial moments.
The Winter split of the 2024 LEC season is set to begin on January 13th, introducing a format change that combines the group stage and playoffs to enhance the viewer experience at the LEC Studio in Berlin and online.
The top eight teams will qualify for the playoffs, competing for a share of €80,000 (~£68,782) in prize money and Championship Points determining the six teams advancing to the LEC 2024 Season Finals in August. This partnership renewal is part of Riot Games' series of contract extensions, including deals with KitKat, Kia Europe, and Secret Labs.
Eva Suarez, Head of Esports Partnerships EMEA at Riot Games, expressed delight in continuing the collaboration with LG, emphasizing the anticipation of seeing the innovative contributions of LG UltraGear monitors to the Riot Games Arena. The extended partnership is expected to bring exciting opportunities for both parties over the next two years.
