Posted : 25 September 2023
Esports broadcaster LetsPlay.Live has unveiled the return of the LPL Clash Royale World Tour, a collaboration with Clash Royale developer Supercell. Scheduled for November 13th-16th, this event will consist of both pro and open divisions.
The LPL Clash Royale World Tour welcomes players from across the globe, with registration open from September 22nd to October 2nd. Those who qualify for the open division will compete for a prize pool of $2,500 (~£2042.02).
In contrast, the LPL Clash Royale World Tour pro division will feature 16 players in a double-elimination bracket, competing for a share of $22,500 (~£18,378) in prize money. Players who don't make it to the pro division can still participate in the open division.
Clash Royale is a rapidly growing mobile esport in the Western world. In January 2023, Supercell announced the revival of the Clash Royale League and resumed monthly competitions throughout the year.
This partnership with Supercell adds to LPL's growing list of collaborations. In September 2023, it partnered with NBL Oz Gaming, the esports division of Australia's National Basketball League, and game developer KRAFTON, planning to host PUBG tournaments for the APAC region.
Duane Mutu, Managing Director of LetsPlay.Live, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event: "We had a blast with the first Clash Royale World Tour earlier this year and can't wait to be blown away, once again, by the sheer skill of our players around the world. Supercell has always been an amazing partner, not only with its unwavering support and passion for mobile esports but with generous prizing to back it up."
