Knights re-partner with HyperX for Pittsburgh esports activities
Posted : 18 July 2023
Pittsburgh-based esports organization, Knights, has renewed its partnership with gaming peripheral brand HyperX. As the official gaming peripheral collaborator, HyperX will supply Knights with its products and engage in various content and activations. The length of the renewed contract has not been disclosed.
The North American organization, also known as the Pittsburgh Knights or PK Knights, first teamed up with HyperX in 2019. Among its notable community initiatives are the Sakura Cup tournaments, women's VALORANT competitions that started in 2021, with 14 events held so far.
Knights currently boasts competitive rosters in games like Rainbow Six Siege, Mortal Kombat, and iRacing. However, they recently announced their departure from Rocket League's esports ecosystem.
Apart from their competitive division, Knights operates Knights Arena, an event arm that partnered with Riot Games for VALORANT's 2023 VCT Challenger and VCT Game Changers events in North America. This collaboration led Knights to step back from fielding a VALORANT roster for the 2023 campaign.
HyperX has been solidifying its position as a major gaming peripherals brand in esports through various collaborations and activations with industry stakeholders. In 2023, the brand partnered with Riot Games' VALORANT Champions Tour and Allied Esports' HyperX Arena venue. It also worked on activations with 100 Thieves co-owner Rachell 'Valkyrae' Hofstetter.
