Gameloft, the developer and publisher behind the popular racing game Asphalt Legends Unite, has announced an exciting partnership with Ferrari. This collaboration will bring about the Ferrari HP Esports Asphalt Series, a new esports competition open to players of the game.
The tournament marks the first foray into esports for Asphalt Legends Unite and leverages the game's cross-platform features, allowing players from different platforms to compete. The event kicks off on August 15th and runs through September 11th, featuring four qualifying rounds with various Ferrari car models.
In the competition, the top two players from each qualifying round will advance to the finals held at Ferrari Land Barcelona in PortAventura World, Salou, Spain. There, they will vie for a prize pool of €20,000, along with an additional €5,000 in Ferrari-themed rewards. This final stage promises to be a highlight, showcasing some of the best talents in the game while celebrating Ferrari’s iconic automotive legacy.
Ferrari has a history in esports, particularly in the sim racing domain. The brand previously launched the Ferrari HP Esports Series in June 2024, which included a LAN final in Abu Dhabi and involved multiple racing simulation platforms like Assetto Corsa and iRacing. This ongoing commitment to esports highlights Ferrari's active role in engaging with the gaming community.
For Gameloft, this partnership with Ferrari represents a significant development in their esports strategy for 2024. Alongside this event, Asphalt Legends Unite will also be featured in the Snapdragon Pro Series, a mobile esports circuit organized by ESL FACEIT Group, culminating in the Global Finals at Gamescom on August 25th.
Camilo Polimeni, Senior Partnerships Project Manager at Gameloft Barcelona, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that it provides a unique opportunity to unite players and showcase Ferrari's legendary cars in a competitive gaming environment.
