North American comic book publisher DC Comics has joined forces with European esports organization G2 Esports.
As part of the agreement, G2 Esports and DC Comics will work together to produce a variety of limited-edition merchandise with a variety of themes.
The League of Legends squad from G2 Esports will flaunt a themed jersey at the forthcoming Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) competition, which will be held in London from May 2 through May 21. The first clothing line is based on The Joker.
In advance of the Paris Major, G2 Esports and DC Comics will release a second apparel line for their CS:GO lineup in addition to one for their League of Legends team.
Details about the other items in the collection, outside the limited-edition jerseys, were not made public.
The year 2023 will see G2 Esports continue to grow and hold its status as a leading esports organization in Europe. In order to form the League of Legends: Wild Rift squad G2 Blacklist, the organization partnered with the Philippine-based Blacklist International organization in February.
G2 Esports CEO Alban Dechelotte commented on the agreement: "At G2, we are passionate about excellent narrative and have always had a lot of respect for the DC Comics universe.
“For this MSI World Championship, the Joker character felt natural to take the competition by storm with our unexpected drafts. We can’t wait for the G2 Army to see what we have got planned for them.”
