Fnatic Launches New Esports Subscription Service

Posted : 06 August 2024

European esports organization Fnatic has unveiled a new subscription service called Fnatic Plus, aimed at enhancing the fan experience. Subscribers to Fnatic Plus will enjoy a variety of benefits, including access to monthly prize draws, a 15% discount at the Fnatic shop, and exclusive event invitations. Additional perks include special merchandise items, exclusive Fnatic content, early access to new merchandise releases, and unique customization options in Fnatic’s mobile app. Fans can join the service for €4.99 via the organization's website.

The announcement of Fnatic Plus was made on August 1st through a video posted on the organization’s social media channels. The video features several Fnatic members highlighting the advantages of the new service. Fnatic’s founder and CEO, Sam Matthews, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “We’ve been working on this all year, and we really want to use it to build around our fans even more.” He emphasized the importance of fan support and how the new program aims to strengthen the community and team connection.

Fnatic previously introduced a membership program in collaboration with cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com in 2022. This earlier program featured three tiers based on blockchain technology and NFT keys, allowing fans to own their membership. While many benefits from the previous program have been integrated into Fnatic Plus, the Pioneer and Core tiers will retain their Discord roles and badges. Pioneer key holders will continue to receive a custom jersey annually.

The launch of Fnatic Plus aligns with the organization’s 20th anniversary celebrations. Known for its competitive presence in games like League of Legends, VALORANT, and Counter-Strike, Fnatic has broadened its reach this year to include titles such as Overwatch 2, Tekken, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Additionally, Fnatic has secured new partnerships with furniture maker Steelcase, instant food brand Pot Noodle, and online cryptocurrency casino Betify.
