Ferrari has announced that the new season of its esports competition, the Ferrari HP Esports Series, will commence this year and culminate in a major LAN event in December. This season will provide top drivers the opportunity to join the Scuderia Ferrari HP Esports Team, the company’s official esports squad, following a LAN final set to take place later this year.
The Ferrari HP Esports Series, entering its fifth season, is an amateur-focused tournament that spans three main regions: EMEA, the Americas, and the recently added APAC region. Competitors will race in three driving simulation games: Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and iRacing.
The competition begins with Hot Lap Qualifiers, leading to Regional Qualifiers in July 2024. The top drivers from these qualifiers will advance to the Regional Finals, vying for a spot in the global grand finals in December, where five drivers from each region will compete.
In addition to the 15 regional finalists, a wildcard driver from the Community Cup, a separate 10-week competition, will join them. This Community Cup features an international leaderboard open to all regions, with the fastest driver earning a spot in the finals. Ferrari’s esports program aims to be a leader in the sim racing industry, providing top-notch support and resources to its drivers, with performance and consistency being key evaluation criteria.
Ferrari emphasized that the esports series is a vital part of transitioning its racing heritage to the virtual realm, enhancing its presence in the sim racing industry. Prizes for finalists include high-end items such as Bang & Olufsen Speakers, Ray-Ban Sunglasses, Ferrari Merchandise, and the Thrustmaster Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition. Signups for the Ferrari HP Esports Series are available on the tournament’s official website.
