North American esports organization FaZe Clan has announced it will host the 2024 Halo Championship Series (HCS) Atlanta Major. This event, set to be the third Major of the 2024 HCS season, will take place from July 26th to 28th at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta’s College Park.
The tournament will begin with qualifiers, featuring 96 teams from around the globe vying for four spots in the group stage. FaZe Clan, alongside the four qualifiers and other HCS partner teams, will compete for the championship title and a substantial portion of the $250,000 (~£196,847) prize pool.
In addition to the main event, the HCS Atlanta Major will host a $5,000 (~£3,936) free-for-all tournament, open to both spectators and players at no cost. FaZe Clan is one of four organizations hosting an HCS Major in 2024, joining OpTic Gaming, Spacestation, and Quadrant as event hosts leading up to the Halo World Championship in Seattle in October.
For FaZe Clan, hosting the Atlanta Major marks its first event collaboration following its merger with GameSquare in March 2024. This partnership also includes launching new ventures, such as an energy drink flavor with GHOST. Justin Kenna, CEO of GameSquare, expressed enthusiasm about the event, highlighting the combination of GameSquare’s event production expertise with FaZe Clan’s esports pedigree to create a memorable experience for gamers and fans.
