Posted : 07 August 2023
FACEIT, a member of the ESL FACEIT Group and a prominent esports tournament platform, has revealed its inaugural venture into competitive PUBG MOBILE.
In an exciting development, the company is set to orchestrate the PUBG MOBILE Challenger Cup this coming August, along with introducing daily cups that will offer players FACEIT points as rewards.
This marks FACEIT's first foray into the realm of the battle royale game, which is a mobile rendition of the acclaimed PUBG: Battlegrounds title. Additionally, it forms the foundation for Battlegrounds Mobile: India, catering specifically to the Indian gaming market.
Renowned as one of the most sought-after mobile esports games globally, PUBG MOBILE also holds the distinction of being the most popular battle royale esports title in 2022.
PUBG MOBILE already features an esports league centered around partnerships. Notably, FaZe Clan, Team Secret, and RRQ are among the 15 teams selected to participate in the inaugural season.
FACEIT's introduction of PUBG MOBILE into its platform will begin with the organization of smaller-scale PUBG MOBILE cups, accompanied by a more extensive Challenger Cup slated for the EMEA region. The Challenger Cup boasts a substantial prize pool of €10,000 (£8,630) and is scheduled to unfold from early August to mid-September 2023.
The daily cups will be open for participation in solo, duo, and squad formats, allowing participants to earn FACEIT points. If desired, players have the option to exchange these points for in-game currency within PUBG MOBILE.
Milos Nedeljkovic, the Director of Product Marketing at the ESL FACEIT Group, commented on this exciting development: "This collaboration marks our first interaction with the PUBG MOBILE community and stands as one of the most prominent mobile launches on FACEIT to date. It aligns with our broader strategy of fostering open, aspirational, rewarding, and sustainable esports ecosystems by harnessing our platform technology and extensive experience."
Notably, FACEIT has entered into significant partnerships with notable esports organizations this year, including collaborations with 9INE, Astralis, and Movistar Riders. These partnerships offer fans access to exclusive content and in-game items.
The ESL FACEIT Group has also unveiled a Call of Duty: Mobile series and reinforced its commitment to the Snapdragon Pro Series mobile esports tournament, signaling a deliberate move towards greater engagement with mobile esports.
