The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has unveiled the FairPlay Academy, an online learning platform dedicated to promoting integrity and fair play within the esports community. The initiative targets players, coaches, organisers, and fans, offering educational programs to enhance understanding and awareness of ethical standards in esports.
At its core, the FairPlay Academy's inaugural program is the ESIC Anti-Corruption Tutorial, which has already commenced. This tutorial aims to educate stakeholders on corruption issues and equip them with strategies to mitigate risks. Featuring self-paced modules covering topics such as match-fixing, betting, and fraud, the tutorial serves as a foundational resource for fostering a culture of integrity within esports.
The FairPlay Academy seeks to evolve into a dynamic educational hub, continuously expanding its offerings to address a range of integrity-related topics. Beyond the Anti-Corruption Tutorial, future programs will cover areas such as anti-doping, responsible gaming, professional conduct, and conflict of interest management.
ESIC's commitment to integrity has been evident since its establishment in 2016, with notable members and supporters, including Esports Charts, ESL, and Intel. Through partnerships and enforcement actions, ESIC remains steadfast in its mission to combat corruption and uphold integrity standards within the esports industry.
