With the early access of EA FC 25 now live and the official launch imminent, EA Sports has unveiled its plans for the FC Pro esports ecosystem. This competitive structure is set to commence in October, with registration for the open circuit currently available for players eager to participate.
According to a recent press release, FC Pro 25 aims to create more avenues for emerging talent to secure a place in the FC Pro World Championship. This will be facilitated through an expanded FC Pro Open program and the introduction of new monthly FC Pro Open Cups, providing frequent opportunities for competition.
The FC Pro Open program will see both new and experienced players competing for a total prize pool of $1 million (approximately £750,000). The season will kick off with the FC Pro Open Ladder, running from October 1 to 7. To enter, players must achieve at least Division 3 status in the Rivals mode and register their interest online.
Following the initial round, successful players will advance to Regional Qualifiers and then a Global Qualifier. The top 17 players will join seven others who have already qualified, bringing the total to 24 competitors, an increase from last year. The World Championship will still feature 32 players vying for the $1 million prize, but this year, the top eight from the FC Pro Open will automatically qualify, alongside leading players from the FC Pro Leagues and Play-Ins. Sam Turkbas, Senior Director of Esports at EA Sports, expressed excitement about enhancing competitive opportunities and showcasing the best talent in the game.
