Complexity Gaming, the North American esports organization, has provided further details about the Cozy Clash VALORANT Game Changers tournament, a collaborative effort with computer manufacturer Lenovo. This tournament boasts a substantial prize pool of $40,000 and is an official part of Riot Games' OFF//SEASON program.
Initially unveiled in August, the Cozy Clash marks the culmination of the VALORANT competitive season for 2023. The tournament's duration will extend over a month, encompassing both the open qualifiers and a final championship stage.
The qualifiers are scheduled to occur prior to the Game Changers Championship in Brazil, which is slated for November 28th to December 3rd. Subsequently, the final phase of the Cozy Clash will follow the Championship.
Participation in the qualifiers is open to all eligible for the Game Changers circuit. The final teams will be determined through two double-elimination tournaments, with dates aligned with the Riot OFF//SEASON calendar and participants' requirements. The top four teams emerging from these qualifiers will converge to compete at the LAN venue, the Lenovo Legion Esports Center, situated in Frisco, Texas.
Lenovo, a prominent Chinese multinational technology company specializing in consumer electronics and computers, has a history of collaborating with various esports organizations, including ESL and G2 Esports.
Complexity Gaming, founded in 2003 by industry veteran Jason Lake, is among the longest-standing esports organizations in North America. They field teams in various games such as CS:GO, FIFA, Rocket League, and more, and have notable partners, including the US Army, sports media platform Playmaker, and supermarket chain H-E-B.
Since 2021, Complexity has been a part of GameSquare's portfolio of esports and gaming brands, a digital media, entertainment, and technology company that includes entities like Code Red Esports and Zoned. Recently, GameSquare announced the acquisition of esports organization FaZe Clan.
The Cozy Clash represents the second VALORANT tournament dedicated to female and non-binary players organized by Complexity and Lenovo. In March, they introduced the Complexity Gaming Paradox Invitational powered by Lenovo Legion, which featured eight teams and a $10,000 prize pool. In 2022, Complexity also co-hosted an Apex Legends tournament led by women, in collaboration with content creator Clara ‘ClaraATwork’ Gomez.
