Posted : 12 May 2023
Nicolo Laurent, the longtime CEO of Riot Games, has announced that he will retire later this year. Dylan Jadeja, Riot's current president, will take over as CEO.
Laurent explained that he was relocating for personal reasons and that he intended to return to France to be closer to his family.
Laurent will continue to serve in his position until the relocation is finished, as anticipated by Riot Games, at the end of 2023. He stated that he will continue to serve as Riot's advisor after leaving and that he has no immediate intentions to join another organization or launch his own.
Laurent has been with Riot for more than 14 years, making him one of the most notable personalities in recent Riot history.
As Vice President of Worldwide, the current CEO began working on Riot Games' international growth in 2009. Later, he was appointed president of Global Publishing, and in 2017, he became CEO.
Another senior member of the organisation, the current President of Riot Games, will take over for Laurent.
A.Dylan Jadeja has been employed with Riot for more than ten years, serving as both the company's chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Jadeja joined the video game industry powerhouse after serving as a Senior Associate and VP at A.T. Kearney and Goldman Sachs, respectively.
In a detailed internal email posted on Riot's website, Laurent discussed how his job had negatively impacted his personal life and said that he had made the decision to better prioritise his family life above his career. Although Laurent is French by birth, Riot Games is based in Los Angeles, California.
