British Esports, a national organization supporting grassroots esports in the UK, has announced a two-year collaboration with tech giants Dell and Intel.
This partnership designates Dell and Intel as the official technology and hardware partners, and Alienware as the official hardware provider for British Esports and the National Esports Performance Campus (NEPC) in Sunderland, England.
British Esports aims to secure a total of five official partners and suppliers to bolster the future of esports and education in the country.
To better understand the impact of technology on learning experiences and the significance of "21st-century skills" for future education and career prospects, British Esports conducted surveys among students aged 11-17.
The results showed that most surveyed students believed that combining an esports qualification with other subjects would improve their prospects for university admission. They also recognized the practical industry experience and the importance of esports for STEM subjects.
The survey highlighted the broader opportunities, standout appeal in higher education applications, and transferable skills that esports integration offers, ultimately enhancing students' educational experience.
Moreover, esports was found to positively influence students' skill development, such as problem-solving and critical thinking, while fostering a sense of community, inclusion, leadership, and competition.
Chester King, the CEO of British Esports, expressed delight in partnering with Dell, Intel, and Alienware as their first official partners and suppliers.
He emphasized the importance of collaborating with industry-leading organizations that share their vision and values, stating that the partnership will equip the national esports performance campus with state-of-the-art computing technology, making it the UK's most advanced esports and education performance and training center.
In line with their objectives, British Esports expanded its advisory board by adding six new members earlier in the year. This move aimed to further promote the esports industry in the UK and enhance the country's esports infrastructure.
