Game publisher BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment has revealed the comeback of the Tekken World Tour for 2024, integrating EVO Japan 2024 into its schedule and introducing new commercial partners: Chipotle, Venum, and Victrix by PDP. Tekken World Tour stands as the premier competition in the Tekken fighting game franchise, which will feature Tekken 8, set to release in late January 2023, replacing Tekken 7 for the World Tour.
Commencing on April 13th during EVO Japan, all stops of the World Tour will be in-person events, featuring four types of competitions: Master+, Master, Challenger, and Dojo. Players accumulate points to secure rankings on a global leaderboard, with top point earners from global and regional leaderboards advancing to the Global Finals, the concluding event of the Tekken Season.
EVO Japan 2024 will host two Master+ qualifying events in April, showcasing the best Tekken 8 players. Additionally, third-party organizers can apply to host Dojo tournaments worldwide, contributing to the vibrant Tekken esports community.
Chipotle, Venum, and Victrix are the initial partners for the World Tour, with Chipotle, a renowned American restaurant chain, Venum, a boxing apparel brand, and Victrix, a hardware brand, offering support through various activations and exclusive merchandise like Venum's Tekken-inspired clothing and Victrix's special edition Tekken 8 controllers.
