Sanderson, celebrated for his Mistborn series, ventures into esports for the first time by fielding the Dragonsteel roster, in collaboration with Maryville University. Concurrently, OTK introduces Starforge Systems in partnership with Ohio-based esports organization Cincinnati Fear, signifying their inaugural presence in the League of Legends esports landscape.
Riot Games, the developer and publisher of League of Legends, engaged in discussions with Sanderson and OTK during the off-season, highlighting their commitment to fostering aspiring players' journey towards professional play and their shared passion for the League of Legends esports ecosystem.
In addition to the exciting debut of Brandon Sanderson and OTK, Riot Games has disclosed the schedule for the NACL Summer Split, commencing on June 15th and culminating with the Grand Finals on September 8th. Notably, Sanderson’s Dragonsteel squad, affiliated with Maryville University, has tasted success in the NACL, clinching the runner-up position in the Spring Split and securing a substantial prize purse.
Similarly, OTK, recognized for its prominent presence in gaming and esports, particularly in World of Warcraft, brings its wealth of experience and content creators to the League of Legends realm. Moreover, Riot Games introduces an intriguing addition to the NACL with the introduction of ‘Money Matches’ during the regular season, offering teams the opportunity to compete for additional prize money in one-off matches.
