Australia has banned CSGORoll after an ACMA inquiry
Posted : 19 May 2023
In Australia, the Australian Communications and Media Authority's inquiry led to the removal of the CS:GO skin trade and gambling website CSGORoll (ACMA).
Just two weeks have passed since CSGORoll's contentious alliance with G2 Esports, which was widely marketed by its just turned 18-year-old CS:GO star Ilya "M0nESY" Osipov.
The Interactive Gambling Act of 2001 in the nation forbids the provision of "casino-style online games," as was discovered by the ACMA inquiry into CSGORoll.
If casino-style internet games are played for money or "anything else of value," they are illegal under Australia's Interactive Gambling Act of 2001.
The ruling serves to further emphasise the murky waters in which esports and betting-related skin gaming operate.
