Astralis, Elgiganten collaborate for three-year Counter-Strike initiatives
Posted : 28 August 2023
Danish esports organization Astralis has entered a three-year partnership with electronics retail company Elgiganten. The collaboration aims to benefit Danish and Nordic fans and gamers through various initiatives, activations, events, and meet and greets with Astralis' Counter-Strike teams.
The activations will occur at Astralis Nexus, the organization's headquarters, and select Elgiganten warehouses. Elgiganten's logo will also appear on Astralis' Counter-Strike team jerseys.
While specific details of the activations are yet to be disclosed, Niclas Nybjerg, Sales Director at Astralis, mentioned that these initiatives will be rolled out gradually over the next few months. This isn't Elgiganten's first venture into the esports realm, as they were previously a prominent partner of Copenhagen Flames before the organization faced bankruptcy. They've also collaborated with DreamHack in the past.
Astralis is undergoing a significant transition, as their shareholders recently voted to delist the organization from the NASDAQ First North Growth Market Denmark. Consequently, they're in the process of becoming a private company, marking the first time since December 2019. Elgiganten joins Astralis' commercial partners, including Bybit, Logitech G, hummel, Omen by HP, and Secretlab.
Casper Mortensen, Associate Sales Manager of Gaming Activities and Computing at Elgiganten, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting Elgiganten's presence at major gaming events in the region.
He emphasized the collaboration's role in giving back to fans and gamers who have contributed to the growth of the esports community in the Nordics. The partnership also represents Elgiganten's commitment to offering exciting activations, offers, and opportunities to interact with Astralis' Counter-Strike team.
