In a significant move, Anichess has partnered with Yield Guild Games (YGG), a Web3-based gaming guild platform, to help distribute the game throughout Southeast Asia. This collaboration will also see both entities working together to host a tournament, with the finals scheduled to take place at the YGG Play Summit in November. Additionally, Anichess has been developed in conjunction with the popular online chess platform, Chess.com, ensuring a high-quality gaming experience.
The public alpha version of Anichess invites players to engage in player-versus-player (PvP) matches, unlocking new in-game items as they progress. Since its inception in January 2024, the game has garnered over 1 million registered wallets and maintains a monthly active player base of approximately 30,000. By blending traditional chess with engaging mechanics, Anichess seeks to attract both chess enthusiasts and gamers alike.
Anichess is already making waves in the esports arena, having collaborated with multinational organization Team Secret in May 2024 to enhance its PvP mode.
