Alienware Launches Pro Headset Targeting Competitive Gamers

Posted : 01 October 2024

Alienware, a brand under the Dell umbrella, has unveiled the Alienware Pro Headset, targeting competitive gamers with a focus on high-performance features. Developed in collaboration with esports organization Team Liquid and other professional gamers, this headset is designed not only for competitive play but also for casual use. The launch of the Pro Headset follows Alienware's introduction of a Pro mouse and keyboard earlier this year, further solidifying their commitment to the esports community.

The Pro Headset boasts advanced specifications that cater to the demands of serious gamers. Key features include hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a dual-microphone system for improved communication, memory foam earcups for comfort during extended use, and powerful 50mm drivers for exceptional sound quality. This positions the headset as a strong competitor against established models like Razer’s Blackshark and Logitech’s G PRO, with the added advantage of ANC.

In creating the headset, Alienware invested a year and a half into research, engaging with focus groups and professional players, including their long-term partners at Team Liquid. The design philosophy prioritized accurately recreating game audio input over extensive spatial audio or surround sound features, although the headset does support Dolby Atmos. Alienware emphasizes the performance of its graphene-coated drivers, claiming they outperform traditional materials like titanium and plastic.

With a battery life of approximately 35 hours while using a 2.4GHz connection with ANC activated and over 75 hours with Bluetooth and ANC turned off, the Alienware Pro Headset is engineered for endurance. The introduction of this product marks Alienware’s strategic move to strengthen its foothold in the competitive high-end esports peripherals market, which has become increasingly crowded in 2024.
