The Apex Legends Championship Series (ALGS) has revealed a new partnership with Sony, specifically its INZONE gaming brand. As part of this deal, Sony will become the official monitor provider for the battle royale circuit, enhancing the gaming experience for players. The collaboration is set to debut during the ALGS Year 4 Championship in Sapporo, Japan, in early 2025, where the M10S monitor, co-designed with esports organization Fnatic, will be featured.
Sony has steadily increased its presence in the esports industry in recent years. In 2024 alone, the company partnered with German esports team SK Gaming in June, and earlier in March, it joined forces with the Esports World Cup, a competition spanning multiple titles. These partnerships highlight Sony's ongoing commitment to integrating its technology with global esports platforms.
The collaboration with ALGS marks Sony as the competition’s fourth official partner, joining Alienware, Herman Miller, and Battle Beaver, who all supply crucial equipment to the events. The recently concluded Split 2 playoffs saw peak viewership of over 400,000, with Spacestation Gaming taking home the title and a significant prize of $300,000.
Monica Dinsmore, EA’s Senior Director of Esports Brand Strategy and Marketing, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the importance of high-quality technology in esports. She highlighted that every detail matters in competitive play, and Sony’s INZONE M10S monitor will help ensure players can perform at their best in the upcoming ALGS tournaments.
