Afro-Arab Esports League launched at Gamers8 Festival in Riyadh

The Afro-Arab Esports League, a novel esports championship spanning Africa and the Middle East, was introduced at the Gamers8 Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This league will witness participation from 25 member nations hailing from both regions, engaging in a variety of gaming competitions during the Gamers8 esports event and extending beyond.
Marking a significant segment of the Gamers8 festival, the initial tournaments will take place in VALORANT and eFootball PES in Riyadh this August. Additional tournaments are set to be revealed in due course, indicating the league's continuation post the Gamers8 event. While comprehensive details about the tournament structure remain undisclosed, the organizers indicated that competitions will unfold at the Challenge Zone within Boulevard Riyadh City at Gamers8.
A total of 25 countries, encompassing Saudi Arabia, Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and others, are slated to participate in the league. Beyond men's tournaments in VALORANT and eFootball, the league will also encompass exclusive women's tournaments in parallel.
Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation and Chairman of the Arab Esports Federation, highlighted the Afro-Arab Esports League as an embodiment of esports' mounting significance within African and Arab contexts. He emphasized its potential to foster cultural interchange and collaboration among the 25 involved nations, envisioning a future marked by unity, transcending borders, and forging connections through the excitement of gaming.
The inaugural tournaments for VALORANT and eFootball will debut during the Gamers8 Festival, a prominent global esports event spanning the summer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event boasts the highest total prize pool in esports history and encompasses distinguished tournaments in multiple gaming disciplines such as Dota 2, simulation racing, fighting games, CS:GO, Rocket League, and more. In addition to competitive esports, the festival features an exposition zone and a business conference named the Next World Forum, dedicated to the esports industry.
