Olympic bronze medalist Frazer Clarke has been one of the most vocal opponents advocating for the Wardley bout. Fabio Wardley wants to defend his British heavyweight belt against one of his undefeated local competitors.
"If they want to jump to me early then they can," Wardley said
The current British heavyweight champion, Fabio Wardley, is confident that his next opponent will be one of his unbeaten domestic competitors.
At the O2 Arena on Saturday, Clarke watched as Wardley defeated Michael Polite-Coffie.
"Whoever wants it next can get it," Wardley said.
But he added: "As long as they're easy to deal with. They don't make it hard work. Because I'm not here to mess about and bow down to anyone.”
"Ultimately I'm the champion and you're coming to me to try and take something I have. So you need to be humble in that sense and come across with some humility and hopefully we can get the fights made."
Frazer Clarke, who won the bronze medal at the Olympics in super heavyweight, English champion Solomon Dacres, and David Adeleye are all vying for a crack at Wardley and the Lonsdale Belt he now owns.
