The Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, has confirmed the ministry's readiness to finalize its partnership with Yucateco Boxing Promotions for talent discovery.
Senator Enoh revealed this at the recent Yucateco Boxing Lifetime Achievements Merit Award in Lagos.
In his speech at the event, Sports Minister Enoch said that the process of establishing a groundbreaking partnership between both parties is in its final stages.
"I am pleased to announce that the Ministry of Sports will soon sign a groundbreaking partnership with Yucateco Boxing Promotions. This partnership aligns with my agenda on talent discovery and exposure."
"Yucateco Promotions has a functional model based on all they have done so far, and we hope to leverage their financial might and technical expertise. We aim to perfect this before the start of season two of the boxing league."
The Chairman and CEO of Yucateco Boxing Promotions, Omonlei Imadu, stated that his organization is open to collaborating with the Ministry of Sports to change the landscape of boxing in Nigeria.
"I have been receiving calls from boxing stakeholders at home and abroad about when this partnership will be formalized. We are ready on our part and waiting for the sports ministry to finalize their end."

According to Imadu, the National Open Trial for season two of the YBL will take place from May 24 to 26 at the Brai Ayonote Boxing Gymnasium, National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State.
