Ridwan “Scorpion” Oyekola knocks out Emmanuel Quartey in Featherweight clash

Nigerian boxer Ridwan Oyekola achieved a knockout victory over Ghanaian boxer Emmanuel Quartey in a homecoming bout at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
The Ibadan-born boxer knocked out his opponent in the first round of the ten-round featherweight clash, marking his return to the path of victory after a defeat to Keisuke Matsumoto in his previous bout in Japan.
After his knockout victory, Ridwan expressed his appreciation to all his fans who came to support him and promised to continue making them proud in future bouts.
In the undercard fights that took place before the main featherweight clash, Celina Agwu knocked out Mary Eze in the third round of a six-round female light-heavyweight clash.
Toheeb Wasiu also defeated Sunday Abudu by unanimous decision from the judges after a six-round heavyweight clash, while Oto "Joe Boy" Joseph defeated Batholomew Abuchi Uche by unanimous decision after six rounds of super-lightweight challenge bouts.
In another bout, Riliwan "Babyface" Babatunde beat Isiaka Raimi by unanimous decision from the judges after a six-round welterweight clash.
Featherweight Lateef Azeez knocked out Bolaji Ewe Ade in the third round in his pro debut.
The "Homecoming bout" was organized by Core Afrique Boxing promotions and powered by Zion Sports management incorporation. The bout was endorsed by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control.
