NOC announces refresher course for wrestling coaches

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) says its affiliate, the Olympic Solidarity Group, has secured the International Olympics Committee (IOC) solidarity funding to host Level three coaching course for the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), from Oct.15 to Oct. 21.

Tony Nezianya, Public Relations Officer, NOC, said no fewer than 25 coaches from different states of the federation have been invited to participate in the coaching programme scheduled to hold in Yenagoa, Bayelsa.

“The course is an initiative of the IOC through the Olympic Solidarity and the NOC, designed to support the development of coaching and mentoring, skills and techniques of individuals and teams to reach their full potential.

“The five-day training course is expected to be anchored by international federations approved facilitators, Vincent Aka from France, to be assisted by Zac Dominguez from USA,” said the statement.

It added that NOC’s Secretary-General, Babatunde Popoola, would declare the training open on Oct. 15.
