Nigerian monster Efe Ajagba to return

The heavyweight action on August 26 promises to be intense, with Nigeria's Efe Ajagba set to face off against Zhan Kossobutskiy in the co-feature of the ESPN telecast, as announced by Top Rank.

While Ajagba experienced a setback in 2021 with a loss to Frank Sanchez, he bounced back with a convincing knockout victory against Jozsef Darmos, followed by a hard-fought win against Stephan Shaw in January.

Although Ajagba may not be considered a top contender, he presents the toughest challenge for Kossobutskiy yet, making their upcoming bout an intriguing clash.

Originally, Jared Anderson was scheduled to face Kossobutskiy on January 1, but visa issues caused a delay in their meeting, leading to the rescheduled fight now.

With Anderson being a relatively new opponent for Kossobutskiy, Top Rank could have possibly arranged this matchup earlier to create additional anticipation and excitement for the fans. 

Nonetheless, the showdown between these big guys is eagerly awaited, and the fight night is sure to deliver thrilling heavyweight action.
