Liam Smith: Chris Eubank Jr. was terrified of being struck in the opening round

Chris Eubank Jr. was "petrified," in Liam Smith's opinion, during their first encounter, which made him vulnerable to the knockout.
They announced their rematch on June 17 at a point in their press conference on Tuesday.
Prior to their first bout in January, he inquired as to whether Eubank had been knocked out while practicing. Eubank flatly rejected the allegation. But Smith asked for an explanation.
"It wouldn't surprise me if he'd been knocked out beforehand in sparring because he was terrified of getting hit," Smith told.
Professional boxers are taught to recognize and take advantage of certain things. They'll search for dread. They will benefit if they see anxiety or doubt of the sort that might limit activity and performance.
In fact, Smith started off by doing just that. He seized a chance after spotting it.
"Round one, I remember being close to him and he's holding me and I'm just thinking you're terrified," Smith said.
"You are terrified of getting hit. You watch every replay and he's not even moving his head [properly]. He's closing his eyes. He's getting his head out the way."
"He was petrified of getting hit, he was looking away. That's why the first shot wobbled him. Because he's not looking. " Smith added.
"He was looking at the floor and the first right hand hits him and goes right to his boots. I'm not going to sit and lie about it. I'm not going to sit and say, 'Oh it was a great shot'."
