Joshua Buatsi: After a one-year sabbatical, the unbeaten British Olympian is "very eager" to return to the ring

Joshua Buatsi is eager to return to the ring after spending over a year away due to cancelled fights and promoter changes.
The 30-year-old light heavyweight is undefeated in 16 matches, but he hasn't fought since May 2022, when he defeated Craig Richards on points in an all-British classic.
Since then, the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist has switched promoters, going from Matchroom to Boxxer, and his first fight under the new management pits him against Poland's Pawel Stepien.
The fighter known by the ring handle "Just Business" claims that his prolonged absence from the ring will not prevent him from carrying out his duties and winning his 17th fight in a row in Birmingham on Saturday.
"Whether a year, 10 years off, the goal remains the same," he said.
"I'm happy to be back, I've got a good competitor, I'm here to win.
"There is no other language or thinking process, I'm here to win and look good doing it."
Following his victory over Richards, Buatsi was on track for a world championship battle against WBA (Super) champion Dmitry Bivol, who has long been predicted to be the next big thing in British boxing.
Buatsi reportedly turned down a seven-figure sum of money to face the Russian, according to former promoters Matchroom. However, that bout has yet to take place.
