In a pivotal light-heavyweight bout at UFC Nashville, fifteenth-ranked Dustin Jacoby emerged victorious by stopping the surging Nigerian, Kennedy Nzechukwu, in the first round.
Jacoby, a former GLORY kickboxer, faced a challenge as he had lost his last two UFC fights after an impressive 6-0-1 start with the promotion, while Nzechukwu had won his last three bouts with improved wrestling and grappling skills.
In an intense exchange, Jacoby's well-timed counter right hand caught Nzechukwu off guard, leading to a quick stoppage by the referee as Jacoby delivered hammerfists on the ground.
