Elon Musk vs Zuckerberg: Fight to be broadcast live
Posted : 07 August 2023
Could the billionaire showdown between Musk and Zuckerberg be in the works? Elon Musk, a serial entrepreneur, recently posted on his platform X (formerly Twitter), hinting at a live broadcast of a battle between him and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO and founder of Meta.
Musk mentioned that the event would be a wrestling match and that any profits generated would be donated to charity for the benefit of veterans. This concept emerged from the ongoing rivalry between the two tech giants and has been a topic of discussion for over a month. However, it remains uncertain whether the battle will indeed materialize, as neither Zuckerberg nor Meta has officially responded to Musk's announcement.
In a separate post, Musk humorously mentioned how he's been preparing for the battle by lifting weights throughout the day. He even quipped about bringing the weights to work due to his busy schedule. When questioned about the purpose of the battle, Musk responded, "It's a civilized form of war. Men love war." This stands in contrast to Zuckerberg's recent uncertainty about the event's likelihood when asked by a Meta employee.
Musk and Zuckerberg have a history of disputes, ranging from differences in AI approaches to privacy concerns. The rivalry escalated when Musk acquired Twitter, leading to reports of Meta's intentions to launch a direct competitor. Musk's provocations eventually turned into a challenge to fight, which Zuckerberg accepted. However, concrete details about the potential battle remain elusive.
Considering the controversies surrounding X's management, such as the recent name change and branding, and Meta's own challenges with its Threads platform, both billionaires might find it more beneficial to channel their efforts into improving their platforms and competing in the business arena rather than engaging in a physical battle.
