Former two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has stated that he will not waste his time on Deontay Wilder as he focuses on his rematch with Dillian Whyte.
Joshua and Whyte will face off for the second time on August 12, eight years after their initial fight, which Joshua won by knockout. Joshua does not consider Whyte a rival and sees him as just another opponent.
Joshua expressed his frustration with the prospect of facing Deontay Wilder and the difficulties in making a fight happen with Tyson Fury. He stated that he does not waste his time waiting for other fighters and that Whyte is a solid and credible opponent.
While Joshua considers Wilder, Fury, and Whyte as his dream trio of opponents, he understands that dreams are not always realized in boxing.
Joshua believes that Whyte is a tough competitor and acknowledges his talent and danger in the ring. He recognizes Whyte's position in the top 10 or 15 heavyweights in the division and emphasizes the need to take every opponent seriously in the heavyweight division.
Whyte, on the other hand, is focused on preparing for the best version of Joshua and aims for victory, emphasizing his power and determination.
During the news conference, both fighters maintained a calm demeanor, with Whyte stating that he has no hate towards Joshua. This is a departure from their previous pre-fight meeting, which was marked by more intense exchanges.
