Anthony Joshua Defeated Jermaine Franklin in His Comeback, But is He Prepared To Face Tyson Fury?
Posted : 16 April 2023
Anthony Joshua still has a number of alternatives after a lackluster victory over Jermaine Franklin. Joshua contends that the 12 rounds Franklin required of him were exactly what he needed with a new trainer if he wants to face Tyson Fury soon. Dillian Whyte, though, could be the best option.
When Anthony Joshua defeated Jermaine Franklin on Saturday, he was going for the knockout.
After claiming a convincing unanimous-decision victory in a contest that Franklin did manage to pepper with a few challenging moments, he acknowledged as much.
However, the victory positions him well for a challenge to the heavyweight division's leadership.
The WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, is Joshua's ultimate objective. It would be a battle between two fierce rivals in all of Britain.
But while Oleksandr Usyk, the current undisputed WBO, WBA, and IBF champion, handed Joshua two grueling losses in a row, Fury has appeared unstoppable. He outclassed and stopped both Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora before spectacularly winning the third bout in his trilogy with Deontay Wilder.
