As wrestling continued, Nigeria's male wrestlers carried on from where they left off on Sunday, although not as dominantly as the female events. Nonetheless, there was still something to celebrate.
On Monday, Ashton Mutuwa lost 12-0, conceding superiority to Youssif Hemida of Egypt in the 125kg final, settling for a silver medal.
Simeon Enozumini also clinched a silver medal after suffering defeat in the final to Egyptian Gamal Mohammed in the 57kg category.
In the 65kg category, Izolo Stephen secured a silver medal following a 10-0 superiority loss to Mourad O. of Egypt.
In the 86kg category, Harrison Onovwiomogbohwo settled for a bronze medal after a walkover against Egypt's Ahmed Khaled, while Braveman Oyeinkeperemo lost his 74kg bronze match to Mukendi A. of Congo.
Recalling Sunday's events, Nigerian female wrestlers displayed an incredible performance in the female wrestling events, securing six gold medals out of six events.
The overall result for wrestling in the 13th African Games stands at 6 gold medals, 3 silver, and 2 bronze.
