The profile of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2024 Zenith Bank Women Basketball League, Hembam Wandoo, continues to soar as she prepares to lead Nigeria's cadet team to the world stage. This follows her historic performance with the MFM Women Basketball Team, where she played a pivotal role in securing back-to-back league titles.
It has been a remarkable year for the 16-year-old, who has led both the MFM team and the U-16 J’Tigress to impressive heights. Wandoo is now set to further elevate her career at the 2025 FIBA U-18 Women’s World Cup in the Czech Republic.
In recognition of Wandoo’s immense contributions to the team's success, MFM highlighted her recent individual and team accolades. The Benue State-born star was instrumental in MFM’s championship-winning campaigns in 2023 and 2024, earning the MVP award in the latter season.
Wandoo’s achievements extend beyond the league, as she also claimed a silver medal while representing Benue State at the 2020 National Sports Festival and a gold medal with Delta State in 2022.
Reflecting on Wandoo’s talent and dedication, MFM Women Basketball Club’s chairman, Godwin Enakhena, used glowing terms to describe her. “She is one of the most dedicated players on the team. We have a squad of very committed players, and she stands out among them," Enakhena said. "A true team player. The world is at her feet.”
