Women’s Basketball League: Atlantic Conference favourites set to battle in opening fixtures

Unbeaten First Bank have started their opening campaign in the 2nd Phase of the 2023 Nigeria Basketball Federation NBBF Women’s League with a bang in Asaba, Delta State.
The Elephant Girls slammed IGP Queens 70-49 in the last game of Day 1 action of the competition on Tuesday in the Atlantic Conference.
The win strengthens First Bank’s stranglehold on the number one spot in the standings.
Elsewhere in the competition’s opener, Bayelsa Blue Whales defeated Dolphins 56-38 while MFM earned a decisive 58-45 point win over Sunshine Angels.
For the other fixtures, MFM will confront Dolphins, First Bank play Sunshine while Bayelsa square off against IGP Queens.
Two top teams from the Asaba championship will join up with Nigeria Customs and defending champions, Air Warriors for the Finals 4 in Lagos later this month.
