Ub Huishan NE (SRB) continued their dominant run in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2023 season by claiming victory in the first-ever Edmonton Masters on July 29.
MVP Strahinja Stojacic played a pivotal role, scoring 10 points in the final to lead his team to a record fifth consecutive Masters title this season. In an intense showdown against San Juan, the No.1 seeds emerged victorious with a 19-12 scoreline.
The final kicked off with a strong start from top-ranked player Stojacic, who showcased his shooting skills from downtown. However, San Juan displayed resilience, with Luis Cuascut making a two-point shot followed by an impressive one-handed dunk to take a 7-6 lead.
The thrilling contest intensified as Antonio Ralat made a difficult layup, and Dejan Majstorovic responded with a deep splash for Ub. The teams battled fiercely, but Ub proved their mettle in the clutch moments, with Stojacic sealing the victory with another two-point shot.
Stojacic's outstanding performance earned him his third Masters MVP title this season, leading the charts in player value (42) and overall scoring (40).
The individual contests also provided thrilling moments, with Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy's Steve Sir emerging as the winner of the William Huff Shoot-Out Contest. In the City of Edmonton and Explore Edmonton Dunk Contest, Dominic Gonzales took the crown, adding to the excitement of the event.
