Turkey seek revenge for FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup Semifinal against Spain

Turkey has revenge on its mind as they prepare to face Spain in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2023 Semifinal. They want to get revenge for their devastating loss in the FIBA U18 European Championship 2022 Final last summer.
In Hungary, Spain and Turkey are still unbeaten. Spain demonstrated its superiority in Group A by defeating China, France, and Canada. They maintained their winning ways against Lebanon in the Round of 16 and Argentina in the Quarterfinals.
In contrast, Turkey handled business in Group D, defeating Argentina, Korea, and Hungary. They subsequently overcame Canada in the Quarterfinals and Egypt in the Round of 16.
A key matchup to watch will be between Turkey's Samet Yigitoglu and Spain's Izan Almansa. Yigitoglu, the Turkish big man, faces the challenge of containing Almansa, who has already earned MVP honors at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022 and FIBA U18 European Championship 2022.
Both teams rank among the top four scoring teams in the competition, with Spain averaging 88.2 points per game (third) and Turkey averaging 85.8 points per game (fourth). They also excel at shooting from beyond the arc, with Spain leading at 35.5% and Turkey closely behind at 34.9%.
Turkey must focus on preventing Spain from dominating the offensive glass, as Spain leads the tournament with 18.6 offensive rebounds per game. Spain also ranks second in fewest turnovers (13.0 per game), while Turkey averages 17.0 turnovers per game.
Additionally, Spain demonstrates strength in fast break points (16.2 per game) and second chance points (19.2 per game).
