Nigeria’s men's basketball team, D’Tigers, suffered another defeat in the AfroBasket 2025 qualifiers, losing to Uganda 72-62 in their second Group B game on Saturday.
Nigeria had opened their campaign with an 89-82 defeat to Libya in their opening game on Friday.
D’Tigers only fielded nine players in their loss to Uganda, just like in the game against Libya, as the East Africans came out on top in all four quarters.
Uganda finished the first quarter 12-7 before taking the second quarter 29-19.
In the third quarter, Uganda also emerged on top with 55 points to D’Tigers’ 44 before rounding off with the final score of 72-62 after the fourth quarter.
D’Tigers will close the first qualifying window on Sunday when they face Cape Verde.
