The postseason chances of the Sacramento Kings depend on Domantas Sabonis

The finest offense in the NBA is channeled through Domantas Sabonis, and it all starts when he takes a defensive rebound and dribbles across the floor with his 7-foot bulk moving with a distinctively equine pace.
He often begins dribbling around the top of the key while keeping the ball in one hand and moving away from the defender like an adult chasing a kid in a game of keep-away.
When the offense is clicking, as it did frequently throughout the regular season but sporadically during the first four games of the Round 1 matchup against the Golden State Warriors, Sabonis appears to be conducting a chorus with the ball.
Sabonis' style of play has an element of grace and vehemency.
"Domas is the anchor," Kings guard Malik Monk says.
"Everything goes through Domas."
The familiarity of a seven-game playoff series creates particular difficulties, and Sabonis has been the center of the Warriors' defensive plan, as befits a player of his magnitude.
In the postseason, the court gets smaller, but Sabonis is now confronting large areas. Golden State has stumbled without Sabonis despite converting a two-game series deficit into a 3-2 lead going into Game 6 tonight.
His drives to the rim, which nearly invariably drift toward his dominant left hand, have been stopped by the Warriors by closing up the lane. The 17.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists he has averaged through five games hide how much he has had to change his style of play.
