Stephen Curry Scores Season-High 56 Points as Warriors Defeat Magic

Posted : 28 February 2025

Stephen Curry delivered a stunning performance as he led the Golden State Warriors to a 121-115 victory over the Orlando Magic. The 36-year-old guard recorded a season-best 56 points, including 12 three-pointers, marking the third time in his career he has achieved this feat.

Curry’s scoring spree helped extend the Warriors’ winning streak to five games, as he dominated the third quarter by outscoring the entire Magic team 22-21. One of the most spectacular moments of the night came just before halftime when he sank a long-range buzzer-beater from well beyond midcourt.

Curry's efficiency was equally remarkable, as he reached his 56-point tally on just 25 shot attempts, making it the second-fewest shots needed for a 55-plus point game in NBA history. The only player to achieve a similar feat with fewer attempts was James Harden, who did so with 24 shots for the Houston Rockets in 2019.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was full of praise for Curry’s display, emphasizing not just his shooting accuracy but also the elegance and audacity of his game. He described Curry as the greatest shooter ever, highlighting the beauty of his motion and his ability to take on difficult shots with confidence.

Curry’s performance added another chapter to his already legendary career. His highest-scoring game remains his 62-point outing against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021. Additionally, he has hit 12 or more three-pointers in a game on multiple occasions, with his career-high of 13 coming against the New Orleans Pelicans in 2016.

His latest display against the Magic reaffirmed his status as one of the greatest performers in basketball history, thrilling fans and opponents alike with his remarkable shooting ability.
