The NBA has levied a $25,000 fine against Detroit Pistons guard Evan Fournier for his actions during the team's game against the Miami Heat.
Joe Dumars, the NBA's executive vice president for basketball operations and a former Pistons guard himself, announced the penalty on Monday.
Fournier's costly kick came after the Pistons suffered a narrow 104-101 defeat to Miami, sealed by Bam Adebayo's buzzer-beating 3-pointer.
Following the heartbreaking loss, Fournier vented his frustration by punting the game ball into the stands at Little Caesars Arena, resulting in the hefty fine from the league.
