The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) on Tuesday released the names of the players who made the final cut for the D'Tigress team ahead of their campaign in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Recall that the Nigerian women's national basketball team, D'Tigress, will be making a return to the quadrennial Olympics after a 16-year absence.
Nigeria’s senior women's national team has arrived in Lille, France, for their final preparatory game against Japan, ahead of the Paris Olympic Games, which begin on Friday.
D’Tigress has been preparing and training in Germany under the guidance of Coach Rena Wakama and has also played two test games against Germany and Serbia, losing both matches.
D’Tigress will play another test game against the Japanese women's national basketball team at 8 p.m. in Lille, France, on Wednesday.
According to the team’s report, the reigning Afrobasket champions are ready for the Olympic Games.
On the other hand, the Nigeria Basketball Federation has released the final roster for the Olympics.
Leading the 12-player list is team captain Amy Okonkwo, along with Elizabeth Balogun, Nicole Enabosi, Promise Amukamara, Murjanatu Musa, and Ifunaya Okoro.
The roster also includes Pallas Kunayi, Blessing Ejiofor, Ezinne Kalu, Olaoluwatomi Taiwo, Lauren Ebo, and Adebola Adeyeye.
