During the second quarter of the Oklahoma City Thunder's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, forward Bismack Biyombo collapsed while standing in front of the team's bench. The incident occurred as the team headed to the sideline during a timeout, prompting a delay.
Although a wheelchair was brought onto the court, it was not utilized, and Biyombo was eventually assisted off the court and headed for the locker room. The Thunder assured that it was not a severe medical condition, and despite not returning to the game, Biyombo was reported to be in good spirits at halftime.
Oklahoma City Thunder's coach Mark Daigneault provided reassurance, stating that Biyombo's condition was not serious and that he had essentially fainted. Daigneault added that Biyombo was in good humor, laughing, and joking in the locker room during halftime. The incident occurred as Biyombo, a 13-year NBA veteran, was playing in only his fifth game with the Thunder after joining the team on February 10th.
