North Macedonia and Czech Republic advance to Division A in FIBA U20 European Championship

Both hosts North Macedonia and the Czech Republic celebrated their qualification for the Final of the FIBA U20 European Championship 2023, Division B, securing promotion to Division A for the next summer.
North Macedonia's path to the Final saw them lead for all but 1:50, resulting in a 66-53 victory over Ukraine. This victory marks their return to the podium for the first time since 2006. Rezart Memed was the standout player, scoring a game-high 24 points, with six three-pointers made on 10 attempts, while Amar Hot contributed with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Despite the loss, Oleksandr Kobzystyi performed well for Ukraine with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
On the other hand, the Czech Republic reached their fourth Final in the event, aiming for their first-ever first-place finish. They defeated the previously unbeaten Sweden in a high-scoring encounter, with a final score of 94-74. Czech Republic had four players in double figures, with Martin Kheil leading the way with 20 points and 5 rebounds.
Ondrej Svec delivered an all-around performance with 16 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Czech Republic's impressive ball movement resulted in 30 assists on 33 made field goals, the second-highest number of assists in a game in the tournament. Felix Brostrom stood out for Sweden, contributing 15 points off the bench.
